I have seen so much conflicting stuff on Garmin getting demolished basically. Can anyone comment me some links to confirmed that Garmin paid to the random and actually got their servers decrypted

Interesting, glad to hear that they were able to refocus their business away from their GPS map units. Good for them. But man that sucks, getting stuck with something like that. Wonder what they did. My guess is paid them. Who said crime doesn't pay.

I didn't know of a case where someone paid and got the encryption key. Why I was so curious.

I thought the many of hospitals in the UK paid to have it removed a few years ago... EDIT, here is what I found : * [US Hospital pays $500k](https://www.zdnet.com/article/us-hospital-pays-55000-to-ransomware-operators/) * [UK Hospitals hit with massive ransomware attack](https://www.theverge.com/2017/5/12/15630354/nhs-hospitals-ransomware-hack-wannacry-bitcoin) * [UK organizations paid $210M for ransomware attack](https://www.decisionmarketing.co.uk/news/uk-organisations-pay-210m-in-ransomware-demands) I think I'm in the wrong business. :(
