It's probably because investing into to new tech is expensive for the airline companies. Guess the old saying if it ain't broke don't fix works here pretty well.
Warning: article is written by a child for other children. Author is a 'danger noodle' by night, which the internet tells me is a snake, and this piece is written as well as one would expect out of a snake.
While the subject of the article is of passing interest, it IS written somewhat childishly / very colloquially, and the author's bio is childish nonsense as well. I guess these are the standards which Gizmodo upholds nowadays.
That's what you could have written in order to get upvotes instead of downvotes.
