How Do I Evade Paywalls? 📦

I can go around some of them with [outline](https://outline.com/), but not very many. Is there a different way? Please keep in mind that I am a non-techie, so it's a non-starter to switch operating systems. I use Firefox with Windows 10. If it's possible to do this without tying myself in knots trying to figure it out, I'd be grateful for the help.

If outline doesn't work [archive.today](https://archive.today/) may not either but it's worth a shot. Sometimes Firefox reader view works for me (F9). There's also this addon but I haven't used it so ymmv: https://github.com/iamadamdev/bypass-paywalls-chrome

Thank you very much. I see "Chrome" on there. Does it fuck with Firefox and/or my privacy settings, for whatever those are worth?

I couldn't tell you as I haven't used it. You could run it in a VM or on a portable install to test it.

I don't know what VM or "portable install" means. Could you tell me more? I don't need the background explanation for this, at least not much, but it would help quite a bit if you could give me a step-by-step guide to what you're talking about. Thanks much in advance.

VM - virtual machine, its like running a separate install of your operating system in a box. https://www.vmware.com/ Or Firefox portable: https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable

I use no-script and it works for a fair amount of them.

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/noscript/doojmbjmlfjjnbmnoijecmcbfeoakpjm?hl=en It allows you to manually enable javascript for websites which prevents the paywalling scripts for a lot of sites.
