It looks like China is going to quickly rub up against the glass ceiling. The article says that the CCP has committed 1.4 trillion USD over the next 5 years. $280 billion per year is a lot of money, but it's nowhere near what the quarterly spend on R&D is for semiconductors for the rest of the world collectively.
