This should put them solidly ahead of Intel processors for both single-core performance and multi-core performance.
Intel isn't set to release any new processors until Q1 next year. And those processors are reportedly still 14nm, so it is unlikely Intel will be able to make more than incremental gains on their prior generation.

It is nice seeing AMD bring such strong contenders to the table. Intel got lazy for several generations and are now paying for it. The extra competition is great for anybody looking to buy parts.
