Everyone saying "use another downloader" is retarded Youtube-DL is extremely important, it's not just for YouTube and a lot of those youtube downloading websites are just a youtube-dl GUI with ads plastered everywhere. Fuck the RIAA for coming after Youtube-DL and fuck GitHub for taking it down, I'm glad this has caused the "Streisand effect" and more people are learning about this wonderful tool. Youtube-DL is just a tool, sure it can be used for legally questionable shit but it has tons more ways to use it legally. It's akin to going after bittorrent client developers or gun manufacturers, it's plain wrong and the response shouldn't just be "use another downloader lul" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DeCSS Similar event in the past, people protested by printing the code onto T-Shirts, writing it into poems, and one guy even found a way to generate a prime number that can be converted into an executable file for the program, creating the world's first "Illegal Prime Number"
