Is it possible connect to a VPN for my browser only and leave the connection for an online video game to be unaffected? I've done this previously using the NordVPN browser extension however that wont work will Mullvad.

On Linux it's just a matter of setting up routing tables. VPN is a network interface and you literally map IPs to network interfaces. No idea about Windows in general, but some proprietary VPN clients have this capability. Wireguard (technically not a VPN but serves the same purpose) requires it. I don't think any commercial service uses Wireguard yet... Sorry, I got carried away. In short, if you're on Linux then yes. If you're on Windows then ask your VPN service's support.

It's been a while since I fucked with Opera but I'm pretty sure they offer a built-in VPN. There are also Chrome / Firefox extensions to change your IP for streaming reasons. Another option would be to download Tor and use it for browsing while not connected to a VPN. It depends on how much privacy you're looking for I suppose.
