It's the new cell minutes scam

I scrapped my home printer and just go to the library once a month to drop $1.80 on printing what I actually need printed in life, or the printshop if it's something lengthy; so much less stress, hassle and cost than drivers, ink and PC Load Letters.

That's the best option for most people, I suspect. It'd probs work for me if I had a library nearby. I think I've only printed like four things this _year_. On the upside, Brother's laser printers are pretty good, and they're still in the business of "sell you a thing that you then own" rather than "sell a subscription for things you've already bought".

Honestly they're begging for an industry disruptor at this point

That disruptor could so easily be Brother, if they got a marketing budget & a marketing department that is worth a shit. At this point their products are so obviously superior that I can only chalk it down to incompetence that Brother are not stomping HP and Epson in this market.
