Whoa. That′s probably a big deal!

What the fuck? This feels like huge news. I'm sure there are more robotics/AI companies doing similar work and making similar progress, but Boston Dynamics is for sure the most notable.

Not that South Korea is an adversary but it seems like a huge mistake to allow companies with strategic technology/manufacturing capability to be sold to foreign companies.

Can we please not let these things do a hostile robot takeover ...please?

It was Softbank (japs) who bought them first, and they then sold them to Korean Hyundai

And Softbank are also letting go of ARM, because nVidia is buying ARM. Honestly, I don't know what Softbank are thinking.

I don't know what the British government was doing letting a foreign corporation buy practically the only serious tech company left in Europe, let alone the UK. And even worse with Nvidia, since Softbank lacked the competence to deconstruct ARM and transfer the jobs to Asia whereas I have almost zero doubt Nvidia is going to offer to double all the salaries of the UK staff, get them green cards and ship the entire company to the US.

What are the alternatives? Arbitrarily prohibit the sale of its stocks, or just have the government buy Acorn and run it with the kind of innovation and efficiency we expect from civil servants?
