If Chromium type webbrowsers become the only webbrowser, it will simplify things...but at what cost?
Which Chrome based web browser respects the user the most and cuts Google out of the picture? Google is still trying to take over the internet.
I've definitely noticed there are a few websites that work differently or not properly in Firefox, even now. I still use it, but can see why there's a declining share, which is sad given people are just going over to Chrome.
I think it's mainly due to mobile phones and tablets. Specifically Androids. Google controls the development of Android and dictates that all devices with Android must ship with chrome pre-installed. So people just use whatever is there. Just like Safari is pre-installed on every apple device. Mozilla doesn't have any devices hence it doesn't come pre-installed on any of them. Lot of google owned websites are also designed to serve slower version of javascript when you visit them with firefox.
