Some thoughts: >'The society we want to see' Why do these technology platforms always start policing language? They talk about making >experts have said they worry about Discord because its semi-private nature and small team make it harder to police Why are they so insistent on policing it? >It turned a blind eye to the rest, figuring that because it wasn't a public space, what was the harm? Just don't join the server, and nobody can come after you. > Now they see it differently. "Discord is like a country with 100 million inhabitants, living in different states and towns," Li said. "We make the rules on what is allowed to help shape the society at large ..." Why are they so insistent on making rules for "society at large"? What is the incentive for this? Maybe @kek has some idea on what's fueling this apparently-authoritarian push at these places, as someone in charge of such a place.

Seems like no one is able to hold power over something without using it to shape their vision of a perfect world. Even more so if they feel like their platform is actually helping an opposing cause.

They invented IRC? Or is this article really stupid?

I'm not sure what's so futuristic about Discord! It's just a chat app, that's all. Nothing special.

This article is shit and the Discord founders look like stupid faggots. If the article was Titled how the Movie Idiocracy laid the foundation for the Human Race it might just maybe it might make more sense.

You have your own website, CBS already shilled you a long long time ago and then forgot about you. You dont need to suck the sock off discord or protocol dot com site, like some faggot. The ship is already moving and it needs a Captain. GET TO FUCKING WORK! ..... Captain

Pretty interesting, they dont seem to be targeting business users, that market seems to be strongly favoring slack. But I wish slack had a voice option.
