Not clear on the difference between hosting providers and cloud providers. Got any links to explain it to a non-techie? Without understanding that, my research will be hit or miss. Found this: https://whdb.com/blog/web-hosts-backing-free-speech-sites/

So Amazon, Google, Microsoft whom are considered cloud hosting providers have a large number of servers in a large number of data centers. They abstract away a lot of implementation details and allow their users to have a lot of options for what servers they want. The other smaller server providers do not have as many servers or data centers. Because of their limited budget they also can't provide all the different options for what you want your server to be or do.
