USB3 drive caddy and SSD for performance. if you want prebuilt look for something western digital. i would stay away from seagate with their failure rates
From what I read in the past Western Digital drives are a good balance between quality and affordability. I've been happy with their WD Elements and Easy Store line. Seagate has inferior quality and I avoid those.
I've always gone with Western Digital for any external hard drive (whereas for internal, I like Toshiba, WD, & Crucial, & Samsung), and will be replacing my aging WD portable drive soon (I should've done it a year ago since I don't like keeping anything around for more than 5 years at most).
