It's pretty obvious that the increase is related to Amazon's aquisition of Ring. What police agency wouldn't love going fishing on a camera that people mistakenly think it's secure?

I can't comprehend why people are buying IOT devices. It's basicaly spyware that you pay for!

A good buddy of mine has an Alexa. It's the most frivolous thing I've ever seen in my life and I doubt he uses the thing at all when no one's around to be impressed by it.

That's my exact experience with all sorts of assistants. I remember that when I found out that I have google assistant on my phone I showed it to everyone and then kinda never used it lol. (yes I got rid of it I have lineage os now)
