The one caveat I'll add is that my understanding is the switch to PoS will be gradual, the ETH1 chain will live on and still require mining, while it is gradually absorbed into an ETH2 ecosystem. Services will have to make the jump to ETH2 and that's not all going to happen overnight. But the trick is whether the current bull run of crypto prices will hold as well. If it does, that will likely accelerate ETH2 adoption to avoid the high gas prices.
