Not bad (the quantum computer research is massively impressive, I wish I'd understood 1 % of that stuff) but still a long way to go. Who uses RSA 2048 in this day and age anyway?

Hopefully nobody, but you never know. I've already moved to quantum-resistant algos but even those aren't certain to be bulletproof. I figure things will go like they did with current computing, first room-sized vacuum tube computers that are slow as dirt and then rapid improvements as people find cheaper and smaller ways to do things.
