60hz+ on smartphones is not needed 📦

* There is no content other than video games that will benefit from a higher refresh rate. * Competitive gaming is done on PC where having a 144hz display helps you in video games such as CSGO not pubg mobile or fortnite. * YouTube doesnt support FPS above 60 last I checked and TV shows/ movies are all sub 30 FPS so regardless of the app you're using all the media is 60 or below. The only thing high refresh rates on smartphones will do is make your social media scrolling experience slightly better, I'm typing this from a 144hz monitor and moving my mouse, scrolling and dragging things across my screen are the only times you notice it outside of playing video games. 120/144hz displays will deplete batteries faster and without easy replacements you will need to buy a new phone sooner which is why I think smartphones are coming out with these higher refresh rate screens.

Agree with you. This is all marketing gimmicks and sales propaganda. *120hz refresh rate, 103mp camera, 8gb RAM, 4K display* etc. I use Redmi Note 8 Pro and it is one of the finest mid range phone.

I ended up with a Pixel 4a because of all the one star reviews. "Only has a 60hz refresh rate!" Good. I'm not paying for nonsense. "Still has a stupid headphone jack!" Sold! I like my wired earbuds. I'd prefer 30hz on a phone for the reasons listed in OP, but I'll take what I can get.

I think you are a bit misguided there are games like mobile legends LoL mobile and cod mobile with a whole esport scene they do want the highest refresh rate possible with the most fps In asia mobile games are huge they make million dollar tournaments for it

1080p should be the minimum for screens though, I don't get why companies insist on selling low resolution devices, I can get an android with 3 days of battery, a 1080p display, and 16 megapixel camera for $200, why are the iphone SE and most midrange laptops stuck at 720p?
