"Big tech scary" aside, this is actually pretty cool. I'd love to be able to drop tags like this on my important stuff. Would have come in handy when my bike got stolen off the rack a few years ago.
I'm sold for the 4-pack. Just today morning I had groceries delivered and I could not find my wallet despite using it yesterday. A tag would have come useful.
I think the fact that any iPhone can be used as a connection point makes this really valuable, considering there are so many iPhones out there. Tile is valuable only when you are around other people who use Tile, this is valuable around anyone with an iPhone. That's a massive range. I could be wrong, though. I don't know a lot about either of these pieces of tech.
Apple claims higher precision tracking (an iPhone app should be able to navigate you to the tag), close integration in Apple's ecosystem and as @joshua writes any iDevice is supposed to be able to pick up your lost tag and Apple seems to try to make contacting the owner easier. As long as the price is competitive I'm getting Apple tags instead of Tiles.
