Part of me finds this great fun. i remember 15 years ago when the tech world said they didn't feel any pity for those people losing jobs to illegal immigrants or to machines or new technology. It may be your turn, Silicon valley. temporary, disposable Indian and Chinese immigrants are already replacing you and now its AI's turn.

If SV is replaced by AI, then so goes the human race. Or at least it’ll be AI in the hands of the very few at the top. Surprised the NSA, with its billions in undisclosed budget, hasn’t already cracked this nut. They don’t have to have any profit and are guaranteed huge amounts of money, with their only goal being the IT control of the world. You’d think they’d have general AI yesterday. Or maybe they do?

idk. the main thing about AI that worries me is human biology. I don't like all of this tinkering with the human code. perhaps, though, people felt the same way about medicines and vaccines and blood transfusions. idk. I think evolution knew what it was doing - for the most part- and that when humans ('experts') try to improve upon nature, they usually end up doing really bad things that have long lasting repercussions. As far as AI replacing most humans, I think the people at top may be too into their egos to do that. Ego requires that someone be below you in order to remind you of how great you are. Ego has been with mankind since we were apes, so I don't see ego (greed, vanity, and all that goes with it) disappearing anytime soon.

Most of us devs don't work for silicon valley though. Besides, this isn't going to overtake complex systems development any time soon. Wake me up in like 30 years.

There ya go, teach AI to replicate, what could go wrong?
