I mean, when YouTubers shill for it all the time, that's a sign to avoid it.

This is the sole reason I don't use it. I just assume they are selling my information to a third party. I'm not the least bit worried about the gov accessing the information, because I don't break any laws. I just don't want my entire life history to be sold to a company.

I agree.

Exactly. They advertise with the consistency, quality, and volume of Raid Shadowlegend. I expect the same level of quality.

If you think that the government isn't using your private information for nefarious activities you are naive.

The government has access to every single device that we own that is connected to the internet. If they want to, they can watch you and I both through our cameras and even watch our screens live. Your gov is worse than mine in this regard. The gov having access to my vpn usage through legal process to Nord does not change a single thing to me. A hundred tech companies with an open access database on every single thing about my life is much worse. Just imagine how much some SJW faggot working compliance at Facebook knows about your personal life because they have unlimited access to everything you've ever done on your phone and computer.
2
Neither is worse, they are just as bad and if you don't think they won't use your history of browsing through Ruqqus against you given that the SJW fags themselves are in government to begin with again you're fucking naive and yes, the fact that my country's government is much worse about this should tell you everything. This isn't a case of 'But but! Muh private companies worse!' no, they work hand in hand to oppress citizens over their speech or to spy on them, get over yourself.

The difference here is that my Ruqqus comments aren't illegal in the US, so it's definitely a different circumstance for you, where you can be charged for 90% of the shit people say on this site. I'm kind of surprised to see you lose your cool like this. It's not like you. And you've completely missed my point. The gov already has access to everything, and I don't have to worry because I'm not breaking laws. Private companies don't already have access to everything, unless we let them. Opsec for me is just identity protection from private companies. I don't have the time or energy to setup opsec to block the gov (no one I've ever met does) and I'm not a cybercriminal, so it's not my concern. Also, in your case, a VPN makes perfect sense. As soon as joe-butthurt cop grabs your IP from a site and finds out it's a VPN, the case is closed. They can't charge you for saying mean (honest) things about trannies anymore. And MI6 doesn't give a fuck if you say unapproved things on the internet, so their ability to access you through your VPN won't hurt you. If you think I'm saying it's okay for the government to do the things they do, then you've completely misread my comments.

They're the same people in government and you aren't worried? You just used the f word. How long until they start leaking and/or banning you for that... A: Soon.

Anyone know of a good vpn? Want to also post on the chans if I can from the vpn.

I've heard good things about Mullvad I think is what it's called? My other go to, less good VPNs are Windscribe and ProtonVPN ProtonVPN cause it's run by the guys who made ProtonMail so I trust em, sorta. Windscribe cause it's cheap, but they are Canadian based so in terms of privacy, who knows.
7
I've heard ProtonVPN is a good choice, though I haven't used it myself. I plan to switch to that once my nord subscription runs out.

Look into proton...

Tor
7
Tor is just as vulnerable as anything else.
1
Why?
3
Because it's a network that governments and hackers have invested time and resources into infiltrating. The FBI and CIA admitted long ago that they can track people over Tor.
1
Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't they need to spend a ton of money and resources to track someone? I'm pretty sure they would need to control like a third of all Tor nodes and then use timing attacks to get your info. Certainly not something the average person should worry about.
1
They can sniff traffic from any particular node and pull data that way, Wikileaks did it to grab government communications to start themselves up.
1
The average person doesn't use the dark Web either. But like sigil said, if you know the nodes, sniffing is pretty easy.
3
Proton works and comes with a built-in adblocker

I've had decent luck with PrivateInternetAccess. Most times I post to chans I have zero issue. Occasionally I use a blocked ip, but I only recall a handful of instances.
6
PIA is what I actively use.
1
OVPN the company not the protocol, used by Pirate Bay.
1
I use CyberGhost. It has no logging, dyor but it works for me.
1
There is a website that did detailed comparison of VPN providers and Mullvad looked like the best option for me.
8
Tor or gtfo. Anything else just moves the problem one step to the side.

summary: you privacy is fucked if you want to browse the modern web
1
Mostly. I hope it’s overexadurated.
1
It's theorized that Tor exit nodes are compromised. This is one of the few instances where I see no issue with double bagging Tor + VPN. You can do it in Brave in about 30 seconds.
2
most exit nodes aren't compromised and using a vpn would only hide you from the entry nodes so it's pointless
1
there are other "privacy focused" companies that do this too

I just came here to shill Sentinel, that is all
