This article is absolutely unhelpful. Anyone can find these settings with minimal effort on their phone. Try looking up the Bouncer app - or downloading F-droid and installing Vigilante. Those steps right there are about 100x more useful and worthy of your time and energy if you want more privacy on your phone without the effort of jailbreaking / installing a new OS.
