Panic move. They see what apple is doing with the M1 running phone apps and are trying to not be left behind. It won’t be the same thing. Apple makes the chips in the phone and computer. Microsoft has to emulate apps from a fragmented market.

I don't think MS needs to make this move. It isn't a bad move, but the idea behind it isn't great. Sounds more like Google said we have to have our apps more widely used, please include us there some how. Prediction. This comes in, people welcome it. Within six months the usage is down to a tiny fraction of people using it. Within 2 years it is dead.
