Interested to see if they'll be able to scale for broad consumer service. Still kind expensive tho....

Less than a tenth the latency (45msec vs 630 msec) and 4-5x the D/L speeds? Wow. Those other satellite providers are toast.

They are in full panic mode. Viasat has already tried to sue to stop Starlink launches claiming the environmental impact hasn’t been studied even though the Starlink sats are designed to burn themselves up at the end of their life.

That expensive part is just the equipment at first. Then the service it's self is noticeably low as far as I've hear at least at 99 a month. Cheaper than my area at least. ATT is 130 month. .. And one local company i have is 120. A third I don't have reach of at the moment is 115.

The interesting thing is it's getting that way with more simple wireless broadband now as well, because broadband companies are refusing to upgrade their infrastructure and consistently screw over their customers with shoddy connections and wired broadband that isn't even worth it all forms of wireless internet are just going to bankrupt them when wireless gets rolled out more and the only thing really stopping them is getting the satellites and masts setup. I mean I've been looking into it for when I move out and just the fact that I can order a modem and have it arrive the next day without having to wait weeks for some fucking technician to come over and poke some cables in the house is already a huge plus.
