Tube type radios will still work, but who will be broadcasting? CB or HAM radio is a possible option. Government has backup supplies ready to be deployed, but they're not for you. Most creature comforts will be wiped out and this blog doesn't talk about woodburning stoves or fireplaces for heat in the winter. BBQ grills will be usable if the food gets to you. All modern vehicles have computer chips that will be fried, so where was mention of a bike? Old cars may be repaired if you can build your own capacitors. Best advice I have is don't panic. As long as you have drinking water you can go several days at a time without food.

They should have also mentioned alternative food sources people don't usually talk about, or realize are edible. Kudzu for instance, is highly nutritious. Dandelions are extremely high in Vitamins A, C and K with a little E and B. It also contains iron, calcium, magnesium and potassium. Raw flowers feature high levels of antioxidants and are considered anti-inflammatory. Cattails, wild asparagus, Calendula, milk thistle, clover, bamboo, wild onions, acorns, and I've just scratched the surface.

I'm keeping that kind of info to myself or it will be depleted rapidly

Not too many people read these comments anyway because we're just a bunch of nuts. "Yesterday's nut is tomorrow's mighty oak that stood firm". Forgot who said it and might be misquoted a bit. Yeah, learning what is edible is key to survival. Cactus (boil it), same with yucca root.

Did anyone else expect the first tip to be "Get vaccinated?"
