\*sigh\* Not again. And of course it's because of AMP, so they can spy (censor?) more...

Those who care about their privacy and freedom of speech wouldn't be using AMP links + Google Chrome.

Well, yes, but the majority of users will be oblivious to what AMP is beyond "it loads faster". I don't know, maybe I am a too big pessimist, but I fear people still don't care much about privacy/freedom until it affects them personally.

The incentives of the Internet are collapsing into a few megacorps. You are right, most people are completely ambivalent to it even when aware. Of those who care, most are numb and conditioned into acceptance. And the rest of us suffer their economies of scale all the same.

I still don't understand why people are using Chrome. The settings UI is just weird and I don't see any reason to pick it over Firefox.

Google needs to be broken up.

This x 1000.

> ...broken up ...will not happen. **DARPA**Google is functioning *exactly as designed*. 1. Acts as the premier data-vacuum and honey-pot to attract and compile data on 'troublemakers'. 2. Performs Ministry-of-Truth thought-shaping, gatekeeping/filtering and propaganda-dissemination while posing as a "private search-engine". 3. Now with more "Memory-Holes®" to 'keep us safe'. Google and its cousin FaCIAbook perform all these banana-republic functions at a fraction of the cost of creating a government department, which wouldn't work half as well.

wow thats probably even worse than the stupid redesign a few years ago.

Why?

I think I'll start using ungoogled chromium soon because it generally removes these stupid changes

Brave is based on chromium, that's another option. And then there's Firefox

At least this one doesn't completely break dns but it feels like an unneeded app-ification of the internet

seems uneeded and most people wont notice. good thing I stopped using chrome
