My wirless headphones felt like a pain to use on windows 10. They were slow and when I used the mic quality was dog shit. Also there is a bug that causes you to loose mic control, so it will never register anything. I switched to linux and all my issues were fixed, latency was mininal (where it should be for wirless atm), the sound while using mic is the same as non mic, and I have never lossed mic control once, even for a 10+ hour call. Of course there is that latency but it is not noticable and is always going to be a downside for wirless. For battery I have never had issues for any of my devices, not my headset or mouse. My headset can be used all day for a week and still have juice, and my mouse jusr need a replacment battery every month or two. Wirless is very convenient and is getting better, and I would never want to go back for certain things (I hate wires while working out)
Linux was a little slow gaining compatibility with stuff (compared to Windows). But thanks to the usual open source culture of tightness and correctness, almost everything works on Linux nowadays, with no silly driver installations and mostly in a bug-free way.
If you have a somewhat high end headset check out this repo, it will let use nicer codecs.

Spying agencies. NSA does it, according to documents revealed by Wikileaks a long time ago. They have special submarines to tap on undersea cables. And I bet the Chinese equivalent does the same.
