Do you need special hardware to use the new system vs GPS or can you change which satellite is used based on software? I'm just thinking that China might start moving their people towards the new Beidou system in which case they might ban GPS from being used in their borders. It does give a lot of information to their potential enemies after all.

I think only Beidou would be available in China to decrease dependency on foreign technology
