Mugshots are no longer released in many areas because it "might encourage racist attitudes." They've been doing it for years, and you are 100% correct about the intentionally obfuscating criminal statistics reporting. I have tons of screenshots of tons of supposedly "white" criminals. Truthful crime statistics would cause a monumental shift in attitudes towards law enforcement, punishment, and all forms of immigration.

This is why I like Florida's laws about crime, I think its called the "sunshine law" but basically, all crime is public recorded and made available with no filter involving adults. Frankly, I think it should be a federal law that all courts including states should have to follow it as well. Granted for Florida it creates the bad thing of "florida man" cause well crime data is so easy to access unlike most other states. You would think though states that care about transparency would want laws forcing the government to be transparent particularly around criminal justice which has historically used these "shady" area's to commit severe injustices to minority's.

All of us have seen similar articles pass about predominantly muslim men behaving questionable in swimming pools. This article might seem cherry picked for you, but you can find them for any european country, including the ones that try very hard to temper news for "muslim bad" in an attempt to counter the rise of the right wing. I would say, this specific topic isn't cherry picked and a fairly widespread problem in western european countries. This is australia, but I assume it is the same scenario playing out there.

I also find the but they are a quarter of the world! Argument just as wrong as the all muslims are... fill in whatever they are being blamed of this time. Both attitudes are directly related to the escalation issues we have in western europe. The bigotry version has thrown a blanket of Muslim bad over an entire group of people, ostrisizing them from society. And the "you are a bigoted racist" for anybody bringing up an issue with immigrants, has caused that no action could be taken to alleviate the situation. For the swimming pools specific, I have no personal experience, only news reports. But given that the media tried to cover up a sexual assault/rape case with minors because "it might lead people to think poorly of immigrants", make me think that the swimming pool incidents had to be fairly invasive.

I would argue it’s not specifically European but Mediterranean food that’s widely preferred. Spanish, French, Italian and Greek are all in Europe, but they’re also all Mediterranean. The Northern European cuisine isn’t as valued. I’m not one of those “diversity is our strength” kind of people, but the historical multicultural influence through trade has made Mediterranean cuisine better than other European cuisines.
