Not even allowed to argue against them? Who'd have ever thunk that the Admins would defend the alt-right just like they defend the alt-left. Right, /u/spez?

"We will tell you what to think, and you'll be happy we do it" - The State.

That sub fails to facilitate debate on alt right topics while upholding standards against hatred and incitement of violence. Maybe it wasn't a bad idea to have a place where these ideas can be challenged, but implementation was not up to par

ROFL that sub was more cancerous than T_D

This subreddit isn't about judging what was and wasn't "cancerous." It's about pointing out that the users should be able to make that call themselves. We don't think the admins should be deciding for us what we want to see and don't want to see. It sounds like you're a fan of those decisions being made for you...so you probably won't agree with our mission.

I subscribe to the idea that all freedoms do have some limits. The freedom of speech allows you to say whatever you want, but you can't force others to listen to what you want to say. And the Quarantine isn't preventing these people from conversing with one another. The sad thing about your statement? I believe that far left's SJW's and virtue signalling has become destructive and harmful, this type of rhetoric is just going to make it worse and embolden their social and political opponents. The "Alt right" isn't going to accomplish anything besides fueling more hate into the hearts of both sides.

>The freedom of speech allows you to say whatever you want, but you can't force others to listen to what you want to say. I don't advocate forcing anyone to follow your belief. I do advocate everyone having the ability to believe what you believe by your own decision, not by the admins'. >And the Quarantine isn't preventing these people from conversing with one another. It's preventing people from seeing something and being able to decide whether or not they agree with that. They won't be allowed to take a side on it. This website has surpassed Google now in popularity. Reddit has become an incredibly important player in how the world thinks and stances the world takes. I mean they're talking about Russians using T_D to win Trump the White House. It's incredibly important that people be allowed to see what they want and decide for themselves to hide something away. >The "Alt right" isn't going to accomplish anything besides fueling more hate into the hearts of both sides. Then let them. Let people say what they want to say. Reddit already gives its users all the tools they'll ever need to hide away anything they don't want to see. The admins' censoring away /r/DebateAltRight is an open admission that they disagree with that subreddit's opinions and they're willing to use their positions to ensure no one else gets to hear that opinion, lest they, heaven forbid, agree.

If reddit was a publicly owned forum, you would be right. But as a business, they have the right and obligation to the advertisers to limit what is perceived as offensive. Reddit isn't preventing anyone from seeing this content if they want to, they are preventing people who haven't agreed to see it from seeing it. > I mean they're talking about Russians using T_D to win Trump the White House. It's incredibly important that people be allowed to see what they want and decide for themselves to hide something away. Nothing is stopping someone from deciding to see search it out and see it

>If reddit was a publicly owned forum, you would be right. But as a business, they have the right and obligation to the advertisers to limit what is perceived as offensive. We aren't saying they *can't* do what they're doing, we're saying that what they're doing is wrong and will only serve to deceive people. In a perfect world, everyone would be as outraged as us. No one should be ok with their decisions being made for them to this degree. >Nothing is stopping someone from deciding to see search it out and see it The Reddit admins are indeed doing just this. The only way you'll see /r/DebateAltRight now is by actively seeking it out. But the entire site is designed around a system of voting up what you want to see and people seeing that stuff the most. The admins have no made it so that no matter how many upvotes a post on /r/DebateAltRight may get, it will be invisible unless you specifically seek out the subreddit. That goes against Reddit's entire design. It's censorship. It's the admins specifically hiding away something so people don't see it. That is censorship.

How is it censorship if you're still fully capable of participation
18
Why would it be called "quarantine" if they're given the same accessibly as left leaning subs?
-19
if clicking two times in order to see and interact with the community is your bar for censorship then I guess yeah, it's censorship
14
Well for some reason it will not let me subscribe to that subreddit :(

You have to do it from PC. Mobile apps can’t touch quarantined subs until you’ve done it through the website.

I am on my PC though

It also doesn't work if you're using the shitty new reddit design. put "old." in front of the reddit url like: https://old.reddit.com/r/somesubhere
2
And in your preferences, set your account to always go to the old site. New site is hot garbage.
2
Ugh, if only that setting actually worked.

Two clicks if you can find the place since it's not going to be listed in any reddit feed.

Still not seeing how that's censorship?
