This is terrible. They also banned /r/Qanon, /r/Pizzagate, /r/thedarklords, basically anything that deviates from the mainstream. To hear a subreddit dedicated to free thinking was banned, upsets me greatly. I thought Reddit was a place for free thought - Hate to say it, but I may have to retreat back to the recesses of 4chan.
reddit hasn't been about free speech since Aaron died. Once spez the cuck took over, it has always been about SJW feelings, and making sure the left aren't exposed to anything they don't like - you know, like opinions, reality, facts, life, work, responsibility and most certainly accountability.
I have thought that a few times, although it seems like a really large stretch. Not that I don't think it couldn't or wouldn't happen - just that I don't think Reddit was important enough back then for it.
That said, I recall in the lead up to the 08 election the Obama campaign gamed this site pretty hard, and everyone that spoke out about it or proved their was monkey business going on were silenced/banned pretty quick by the new reddit leadership.
RIP goldfish.
He was almost certainly targeted for prosecution by the DOJ because of his radical ideas about a free and open internet. When you have the full weight of government coming down on you, suicide could start to look like a rational way to escape. They did not have to kill him to make an example of him but his killing himself worked just as well.
Reddit has a [Trust and Safety Team](https://www.reddit.com/r/ModSupport/comments/8nwhcp/what_does_the_trust_and_safety_mod_do_and_whyhow/) now that actively suppresses ungoodthink. They have moved well past only banning doubleplusungoodthink a long time ago.
>I thought Reddit was a place for free thought
Yeah, maybe the first year or two it existed. Right around when Aaron killed himself is when shit started to really change for the worse.
I think i remember a link to the ISIS beheading video of those 2 Scandinavian girls? Please correct me if that is wrong...
But since it's Reddit probably just some edgy teenager spouting racist shit. 'ede' was a really small sub of mostly banned r/de users were "seldom" active admins could take a while to track stuff down.
I guess the only reason they got banned is that r/de admins (and random morons) sorted themselfs in some sort of an anti rightwing group to control most (every?) german mainstream subs.
