Why does this sub have rules?

After all, moderation is censorship, right? I get the impression that is a dominant belief in this community, because half the posts I see here seem to be examples of pretty ordinary moderation, not oppressive censorship. And I say this as someone who does think Reddit mods step over the line quite often. Y'all seem to cry wolf a bit much to be taken seriously as a whole imo.

Moderation isn't inherently censorship. In fact, its needed to keep the sub on topic. The reason this sub exists is because other mods way overstep their boundaries and ban posts that they dont like regardless of their rules. If this sub had no rules, people would be posting ads for random crap.

We need to make a bill of rights

Because it’s focused on Reddit censorship. I’m sorry you felt the need to make an entire post dedicated to degrading the sub users

I didn't degrade anyone, I just think some of y'all's threshold for concerning censorship is on a bit on the fritz.

Then maybe respond to their comment rather than making a post about it

It's hard to be an arbitrator without having powers of arbitration.
