Funny they seem to have allowed the other post, ya know the one with the actual lies, to just flourish. https://np.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/bbql1i/this_is_dr_katie_bouman_the_computer_scientist/ You ever feel like they're just pushing an agenda?

Except your facts are wrong because Andrew didn't write 850k lines of code and the project would not have even happened in the first place without the algorithm she developed. And you're right wing. Of course you think there's an "agenda"

Well it is true that he wrote it (most people admit). though the fair statement remains that: because you wrote a lot doesn't mean it is used in the end product. but it doesn't really matter, what matters is: why do they feel the need to censor this post. It isn't targetting anyone and actually praising a teammember for the work he did. (edit: a word)

That's true; everyone on the team deserves credit

This exactly. Both posts are super misleading. But one is censored away while the other is pushed and pushed. You either treat them the same and show you aren't biased or you censor one and show what you're really up to. Also, what is this to do with politics? Wanting reddit moderators to stop censoring the truth in favor of their own feelings isn't a political statement. Since when did it become "right wing" to want the truth?

>Since when did it become "right wing" to want the truth? - When the truth disproved the lefts narrative.

No, it isn't true. What he wrote isn't code. The project doesn't even have 850k LOC.

You were doing good until the personal attack. Leave that out next time and your message will be better received. Schmuck.

I mean, it applies here? If you had left out the "agenda" part your message would have been better received.

instantly knew that was timed propaganda the moment I read it, are the general public this retarded or just reddit?

To be honest I think it's just Reddit. In real life people aren't this retarded.

The removed comments on both of them are kinda all over the place. Some make perfect sense as they are outright hateful but others were just unnecessary. They even had one that was just a list of the other contributing members and webpages to find out information about them.

>They even had one that was just a list of the other contributing members and webpages to find out information about them. You are a bigot if you even insinuate that she wasn't solely responsible for the entire project.

This kind of shit is retarded, on both sides. When a massive accomplishment happens in science, mathematics, philosophy, computers, etc from a large team the media and public ALWAYS pick someone to be their "leader". Sometimes it is someone who put a lot of work in, but not the most. It is completely random based on 'how much will people read this' and right known women in STEM is the hot button issue. If it begin with the dude being the leader then the militant feminists would be saying it was her the whole time. Whoever the leader the media or public pick is never, ever going to be right because in large teams like this with everyone who is just as smart as the next one are all working on the same goal which leaves little room for competition or leaders. They all most likely want to be seen as a team because without any of them we wouldn't have seen this picture and these people are the smartest of the smart. So can we stop this bullshit competition of who is one the team needed the most? Most likely not because the media will media, but we don't need to overshadow their amazing accomplishment by turning it into a political debate. THEY did a fucking great job. Lets just enjoy THEIR work.

I like the part where people pointing out that it was an entire team and not just the one girl is dubbed misogyny. Classic.

Yep. I went to her Wikipedia and followed some of the source links at the bottom after the news broke yesterday, and never saw her take sole credit for the algorithm or anything like that, like the media has been suggesting. So now instead of enjoying and celebrating the projects success with the team, she has to deal with all this political stuff.

Um... ya people were taking in the comments about how the number of lines you code does not represent your contribution to the project. The dude did contribute but he sure as hell wasnt the leader and the amount of lines he wrote doesn't really show much. Also the top comment literally explains it.
