I hate to say it, but the reason places like Gab and Voat have a relatively tiny user base compared to Twatter et al is precisely because most people don’t want to participate in a free speech free-for-all. Or they can’t handle it without having an emotional breakdown. People want soothing platitudes. They aren’t called the ugly truths for nothing. (However, I predict Gab’s popularity grows with increasing political discontent in America, as more normies are sucked into the pre-Civil War 2 slipstream.)

Gab has been banned from both the App Store and Google Play. I'm sure that is a factor for lower usage. As for Voat, on Android I found only 1 app in the Play Store. And for iOS, zero apps for Voat. Most people don't know how to sideload apps onto their phone, or that even such a thing is possible.

That's not really true. Voat is just a shitty design and badly run and competing against an established platform. I'd much prefer a pro free speech platform but I stick with reddit because it provides the best user experience even with the censorship. If the venture capital and talent were available to run competitive right wing platforms that weren't colluded against, they'd do fine.

As far as censoring "anti Semitic assholes," why should they be forbidden from expressing their beliefs just because you don't like them? If you're that concerned about counter-semites' hatred for Jews, you should probably be aware that part of their anger stems from special interest organizations like the ADL who punish people who dare say anything not nice about Jews, or governments who make it a criminal offense to express anything negative about Jews.
