I got banned from there and I can't even remember now why but it was ridiculous. Banning a user should require a vote by an unbiased group of ppl IMO not just some pathetic douchebag.
Realize i'm two months late to this train but I also got banned recently for a clearly sarcastic and innocent remark that I made like 5 days after I left the comment. It wasn't even offensive and it started a decent conversation/debate with several other users. I politely apologized for it still and asked for clarification and the dbag wouldn't even respond. I agree that there should be a vote or something. At least a warning or two before a ban. Also, he could have just removed the comment if he thought it was so was so terrible. Shit, I would have removed it myself if he just asked. Instead he banned me without an explaination or response. Came across as a massive tool who should not hold any sort of power. Even over something as inconsequential as r/publicfreakout. Okay, now that's off my chest.
I was banned on there a few days ago for writing "oy vey" after someone wrote a bad pun. I tried appealing on the grounds that it's literally just a Yiddish expression...but they muted me lol

I get the impression that it's one mod who is righteously arrogant and I think he bans people when he's in a bad mood to make himself feel better. He's definitely not objective or constructive about it in any way. I'd love to have a conversation with him to clear things up but he's clearly not interested. Guy is very bad at his volunteer job and is a terrible "moderator".
Reddit needs to create a system in place to remove awful mods from the subs with highest number of subscribers, page views, and/or submission and comment activity.

TLDR; it's easy to pick and choose samples, outliers, and results to fit your narrative. Then all you have to do is publish some pretty graphics to support your false narrative and there you have it. Using statistics to lie.
