Turns out it transcends politics. /r/conservative censors me over opposing war with Iran.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Conservative/comments/c2xhex/trump_iran_made_a_very_big_mistake_by_shooting/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app I was banned for “sh*tposting,” Rule 5. I started off with some humor and sarcasm, but I was making a sincere point. Most importantly, this style of rhetoric is present throughout the entire subreddit, so that can’t be why I was banned. Further, it wasn’t a flyby insult and run. It resulted in follow up conversations in which I assumed good faith of all participants. I reached common ground with one person. To be clear, and I let the mods know this, I was speaking as a conservative. There are libertarian and isolationist wings (not always the same) within US conservatism and they have a rich history. I belong the the rarer, but still recognized, anti-war conservative school of thought (this is the theme of The American Conservative, not my favorite publication albeit). This is also a school of thought Trump has at times promoted! I was not coming in as a liberal attacking Republicans. This was before Trump changed his mind on Iran. I wonder if people are getting banned for wanting more with the run now?

Hey they banned me when I complained about the Syria strikes as well, though I was a little drunk and I think I called one of their regulars a retard.

> I called one of their regulars a retard. Where's the inaccuracy?

To be fair, I'd be warning you of the same thing here. Make your point, but stooping to name calling says that you've got no valid argument left.
-3
Or the person you're arguing with stoops to literal retard levels of mental gymnastics to justify their position and you drop the niceties. This was after like 15 replies.

See I knew that's what it was. I knew because I got banned from there for calling someone a "civ-nat dope". Pretty tame, but hey, that's /r/IsraeliConservative for ya.

The point is that most of /r/Conservative is just that. It's an accurate description, it may be insulting but there is something to be said about the blunt truth.

Much the same could be said of r/politics. Depends on what side of the spectrum you are on. Political arguments are all retarded. Arguing the sides is you playing the game.

r/politics is different, they're the far left and very firmly so, whereas r/Conservative is just a gatekeeper to any true right wing ideology pretending to be right-wingers themselves. In a weird way I respect r/politics more than I do them, those guys don't ban their own, no matter how bad they are.

I don’t like the word being used, but I’m banned from conservative and I can’t stand /r/politics. Actually, my posts in politics auto-fail to post now. I might be banned, but nobody’s notified me.

Being banned from r/politics isn't really an achievement though.

No, it isn’t. I have no idea why it happened if it did. I certainly wasn’t trying to. I even try to find common ground with people on there, so I wasn’t out looking for trouble.

I think I may have gotten banned from /r/Republican for making the case that blowing trillions of dollars on violently social engineering other countries isn’t fiscally conservative. They got me on not speaking ill of other Republicans, which I did. I wonder if they are consistent with that rule when Republican infighting occurs.

Yeah most of my argument about the Syria strikes was just trying to argue against the faulty logic of the Syrians gassing a province that they had surrounded knowing full well that gas would bring international action against them. That, plus the fact that Trump ran on a very anti-war platform which was one of the main reasons I voted for him. The guy I was arguing with claimed to have told mods to unban me but it never happened.

As a conservative r/conservative is a shitshow. They are Never Trumper NeoCons.

I like Trump but I despise Shapiro.

Their rules even said "this isn't a debate sub." Kinda goes against what conservatism is with that rule
2
Really? I kind of thought they were on the Trump train. Guess I misread that.

He’s wrong. A lot of users are fine with Trump. Some are even flailed “Trump conservatives”.

Implying Trump isn't a shill

Not me. He drained the swamp right into the White House.

r/conservative is just as bad as r/politics but on a smaller scale in terms of bias. You have to be as far right as possible to fit in there. I’m pretty moderate but lean right so I’d get shit on a lot there until I eventually just left. The biggest conclusion I’ve come to: Reddit is a dog shit place to discuss anything political
6
Except one is a supposedly “generic” sub and the other obviously isn’t.
5
Yeah dude the whole site is super bias. Aside from r/ShitPoliticsSays (cause it’s so hilarious) and r/MensRights I stay well away from politics on this site. It’s such a shit show
1
That’s my issue with the politics and political humor subs. They should just merge with whatever the standard progressive sub is.
2
I called Roy Moore a dirty pedo and got banned.
1
Sub blocked me long ago
3
What for?
2
Don’t remember tho I been blocked by every news or political sub. They just haven’t unbanned me Edit: didn’t mean to triggger
2
I think some people are downvote brigading and I’ve seen admins remove upvotes from stuff on this sub multiple times.

Hard to say if I have a favorite right now. I regularly read Reason, Stream, and the American Conservative. There’s stuff I love and hate that regularly comes out of these three. But I read them the most. I read the National Review for a long time and gave up on it recently (not as a Trump supporter). I have a bunch of other conservative, liberal, and “radical” stuff in my Feedly and podcasts, but I can’t say I’m crazy about any of it. I’m very politically dissatisfied, but my work requires me to keep up with what people and “camps” are saying.

Hmm. I often read on this subreddit myself, but this doesn't seem right at all.
1
Of course it does, the majority of "conservatives" aren't conservative at all

Conservativism is so infested with Zionism and israeli puppets that its a shit hole. r/the_Donald banned anyone who complained about the Israeli flag being posted everywhere right after trump got elected. It was 100% clear that war mongering and zionism would be the way of the future for Donald trump instantly after he got power, and its been 100% true.

I used the word “viral” and got banned from tD because the mod said “I always hated that word”
