Child rape jokes and people admitting to be pedophiles on the comments. Although from what I've heard the thing that got them banned was that someone crossposted the picture of a minor from another sub.
There was a post on r/outoftheloop about this. Basically, a minor posted a nude of themself on r/gonewild. The post was crossposted to r/FBIopenup which caused its ban.

Someone showed a comment attached to the ban (maybe mod/admin) stating there was content “promoting the sexualisation of minors” there. If that’s the case, fair enough hey.
My understanding is a 14 year old boy posted some degree of nudes to r/gonewild, someone say this post on r/gonewild and then crossposted it to r/FBIopenup, as if to say "FBI, Open Up!" essentially calling out what looked to be an underage person.
Why the sub was banned for that doesn't quite make any sense, I assume the sub was probably being run by people reddit didn't like.

Turns out they got locked down to preserve evidence while the actual FBI opened them up to investigate some questionable "jokes". I hope those fucking pedos they found all hang.

After I attempted suicide, I was introduced to a group of survivors to help learn to cope and stop repressing the pain so I could properly deal with the trauma. The amount of blind denfense of the sub without once considering the possibility that there are legalities at play on this one. Ban the sub so no one can go and alter evidence while the actual FBI open it up. But thats just a theory.

After something like that, the world is going to be as shitty or as great as you make it out to be. Yeah shit like this really pisses me off, but over all I haven't let it destroy my life. I pressed on, got help, got a great career and live an overall wonderful life now. I'm just alot more aware of the evil out there then I would of been otherwise. But for my success it's important to remember there are countless others who are not as fortunate as I. I think about such people quite often, always looking for some way to help even though I know they have to choose to help themselves first and foremost.
