They don't own the content persé, but they own the license to use a user's content. Also, Reddit is a public forum, but they're a private business so they can censor however they like just like Twitter or any other social media can.
Reddit, twitter, google, facebook... these abusive monopolies have no claim to safe harbor protections.
Because of their rabid censorship of conservative ideas, they cannot claim to be aloof content mules.
