If trannies is that offensive why is it a porn category? It's like these moderators don't even jack off to it but that's crazy.

The porn category is usually "shemales" which is actually meant to be **derogatory**, but "tranny" is just **slang** for "trans people".

Usually? Maybe you're into it more than me. Anyway both are common in tag clouds on video porn sites, least that I've seen though I admit shemale might be more common I don't like that word- not a very sexy one in my opinion and it's rather silly - "she a male- wait, shemale, we'll call them shemales!", who thought that was a good idea

I don't think pronographers are very concerned about offending people.

Then what's the politically correct one this week so I can pretend to care about peoples feelings?

It's more like I don't particularly care about anyone and additionally I think people that get upset by a single word are retards but I gotta pretend to be a respectful proper citizen while talking to fucking cunts or customers as my boss likes to put it- No one wants some man or woman bitch or yell when they don't have to and can't yell back unless you wanna get fired. I'm half a faggot and a feather Indian, I don't give a fuck. I'm a bit retarded at times too.

Yeah but it should be about tone and how someone means it than the word itself, I don't go out of my way to pick on anyone and don't go around calling people foul words because I know people get upset about it- I just privately (usually) think they're retards for getting upset at the word itself. Hell, I've been called a faggot hatefully and I don't hate the word itself- it's a bundle of twigs- that's fucking perfect to describe men that like other men- lets put some twigs together ya know?

Is "shemale" really the derogatory term and not "tranny"? I'm just legit curious, because I've thought the other way around was the case.

[Blaire White](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blaire_White?wprov=sfla1) (who is trans) doesn't mind the term "tranny" and back when I considered myself trans I was much more offended by the term "shemale".

In all seriousness, why do you believe that you are in the body of the opposite sex?

It's a rather dated term, so it carries with it some connotations of the attitudes of its time of origin. Take negro for example, it's not technically a hateful slur like the actual n-word, and it's technically accurate, but it has that same dated feel to it and carries at least a whiff of those attitudes with it, so people avoid using it because it's insensitive or inconsiderate or rude, and if you targeted it specifically at someone you'd expect a negative reception and reaction. Tranny or Trannies falls into that same category where it's not strictly hate speech, but the implication of and inference from its usage carries a connotation of hateful attitudes.

Meh. I would have banned you for the spelling error and shitty crop job.

Reddit is a shithole run by subhuman garbage

maybe instead of complaining that you cant say the word tranny, just dont say the word tranny. its a slur. why is that so hard for you?
2
I used to call myself that.
1
Im queer, I used to call myself a slur sometimes too. I dont now. Its not hard.
2
"Trans person" is a mouthful. "Queer" or "gay" isn't. "Tranny" is just slang.
1
The definition of tranny, everywhere you look, describes it as often [offensive or derogatory](https://i.imgur.com/bQAk6pC.png). Language evolves, its happened to leave tranny behind. I promise that saying "Trans person" wont be as hard if you just get used to it. Its the same reason you dont call people of color "coloreds" anymore. Its not hard to adapt.

I got perm banned in r/publicfreakout for using that word, when i asked the mod why he started insulting me and accusing me of all sorts of things. Show a video of someone being beat up while a crowd of people is laughing is alright, but saying 'trannie' will get you crucified

I remember when you could say anything you wanted and people didn’t need to be shielded from the horrible scary words.
