People were making fun of the idea that being a gamer is being a part of the most persecuted class of people. It was a lot of edgy/ironic "being a gamer is worse than being black." There was a lot of racism, and a lot of irony, and the line was incredibly fuzzy between the level of seriousness.

I mean, why should anything be allowed to be banned? That's stupid on such a large platform, I understand if someone makes a subreddit, they should be allowed to police it accordingly but for Reddit to be able to ban the subreddits? That's absurd.

There's a difference between "a subreddit incites violence" and "someone on the subreddit is saying 'let's kill all trans people.'" At some point, there are enough people in the sub saying the same thing that it indeed becomes "the subreddit" and not "a few users." I don't think it was at that point. Obviously you do.
