The sub /r/science is proof that science is for sale to the highest bidder every day

Not taking a side is just that NOT TAKING A SIDE!!!!

"*NO!!! REEEEEEEE!!! JOIN ME YOU BIGOT!!!!!!!!*" >If someone can get you on their side by saying, "we probably shouldn't set fire to buildings with children inside, right?" then then there you go. >Also, look out for the over 9000 levels of hypocrisy - like the ones yelling "not all protesters are rioters!" while simultaneously holding signs saying "one bad apple spoils the bunch!"

Except it’s not anymore. Right now if you are quiet it most likely means you don’t understand the anger and haven’t educated yourself enough. not choosing a side is saying I understand what’s going on and don’t think there should be a change.

I understand what's going on and support the protesters. I do not consider rioting and looting your own (or anyone else's) community a valid form of protest, that is just selfishness and anarchy.

No, because the protest was hijacked to drive a completely different agenda than to hold police accountable. I would not let my voice and presence be used to drive the current ridiculous agendas.

And wouldn't a scientific answer be that that there are a range of positions on the matter. I would think most people agree that a cop should not use a knee to restrain, choke, and kill a person who is not an immediate threat. However, I'm sure people will not agree across the board as to when lethal force is OK, or what are the societal causes of cops killing people. If you get into specific cases, something having nothing to do with the victim or cop might play a role.

Why is this post even allowed on /r/science? This isn't research, it's a survey. Are we going to start calling pollsters scientists now?

I have had a similar experience at Askscience. Still trying to reach out and find mods there that aren't biased.
