Mensrights being controversial shows how sexist reddit is towards men

I think it's less the subreddit's core values and more how that plays out in practice, at least with some users

I like you. You did an excellent job presenting the information neutrally. But yes, the people in the comments are right about this website being a cesspool. For STRICTLY EXPRESSING SOMETHING THAT THE MODS DIDN'T AGREE WITH, I've been banned from [r/LateStageCapitalism](https://www.reddit.com/r/LateStageCapitalism/), [r/enoughpetersonspam](https://www.reddit.com/r/enoughpetersonspam/), [r/AskFeminists](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskFeminists/), [r/facepalm](https://www.reddit.com/r/facepalm/), [r/ShitAmericansSay](https://www.reddit.com/r/ShitAmericansSay/), [r/ADHD](https://www.reddit.com/r/ADHD/), [r/FixedPoliticalMemes](https://www.reddit.com/r/FixedPoliticalMemes/), [r/DankLeft](https://www.reddit.com/r/DankLeft/), [r/communism](https://www.reddit.com/r/communism/), [r/racism](https://www.reddit.com/r/racism/), [r/dataisbeautiful](https://www.reddit.com/r/dataisbeautiful/) (for mocking the idiots who refer to Jews as "them" with triple parentheses around the word), [r/Fuckthealtright](https://www.reddit.com/r/Fuckthealtright/), [r/ShitLiberalsSay](https://www.reddit.com/r/ShitLiberalsSay/), [r/PoliticalHumor](https://www.reddit.com/r/PoliticalHumor/), [r/communism101](https://www.reddit.com/r/communism101/), [r/Feminism](https://www.reddit.com/r/Feminism/), [r/surfing](https://www.reddit.com/r/surfing/), [r/socialjustice101](https://www.reddit.com/r/socialjustice101/), [r/ShitRedditSays](https://www.reddit.com/r/ShitRedditSays/), and I was auto-banned from [r/BlackLivesMatter](https://www.reddit.com/r/BlackLivesMatter/) for making a post in [r/the\_Donald](https://www.reddit.com/r/the_Donald/) *once* about the US military and how it compares to other militaries. When someone is banned, moderator reddiquette states that you need to explicitly state which rule was broken and give the person a chance to appeal. Not once did it occur. Yes. I was banned from a surfing subreddit and a subreddit centered on a congenital neurological disorder that I have. For wrongthink.

Thank you! I've heard of so many people in your situation, reasons for bans seem to be very inconsistent and subjective. I hope it's a problem that gets resolved eventually but I won't hold my breath

Subreddits discussed: r/darknetmarkets, r/mensrights, r/sanctionedsuicide Do you think Reddit were justified in banning r/darknetmarkets and r/sanctionedsuicide? Do you think r/mensrights will be next?

I agree that there are big problems with Reddit, but out of curiosity - if you really think it's that bad, why do you still use it?

Fair enough. There are alternatives cropping up that are less censored but none are even close to Reddit in terms of popularity, maybe one day though.
