Nope, not in Japan. You do have Shaolin temples and such in other country’s but those are very commercialized and you won’t meditate, actually train with monks (unless your’e already pro) or any of that.
I think its got something to do with the fact that you confused their culture with that of another peoples. Even though you admitted you were doing it, believe it or not, people don't like that, it tends to lead to negative reactions.

You could have easily Google'd something like "do westerners travel to asia for martial arts training", and be met with pages of people that have done this exact thing, proving that, yes, people do indeed travel to Asia for this reason.
Secondly, even if you say you weren't trying to be racist, your post does come off as ignorantly racist. You're in the Japan subreddit asking a question about martial arts, as if all Japanese people know martial arts. ~~The "All Asians know Martial Arts" trope surely isn't real, HAHAHA.~~ At least in my head, this looks like an egregious offense, and you got banned for it. This question was better off in a martial arts subreddit, not an ethnic/national one.

First of all: I DID google, but only found Shaolin temples. I wanted to know about this concept specifically in Japan. Also, “martial arts” is not the entirety of my question. Meditation, mental awareness and so on have just as big of a role to me, in that scenario. I didn’t assume all Japanese people know martial arts, I assumed some Japanese redditors in the fucking subreddit of Japan might know a thing or two about what does or doesn’t exist in their country.

How the hell is this orientalism? I don’t see their culture as inferior, matter of fact I want to learn more about the culture because I’m very intrigued by it. If anything I’m stupid, not racist.

You can absolutely be unintentionally racist, all we can do is do our best at recognising and dismantling it. Orientalism does involve intrigue of an "exotic" culture. I don't think you're stupid.
If you want to learn about orientalism and analyse your own thought process, this is something you'll have to do on your own, because only you truly know your own thought process, if you're really interested you can have a read at Edward William Said's Orientalism.
I really am sorry (not being snarky) if this sounds preachy but this is the best way I thought I could express my thoughts without spending too much time on an internet comment.
