Many subs don't allow self promotion, don't know what the norm of that sub is.

Why is the fact it has engineering in it makes it different from a drawing? It's not available for sale and could hardly even be called a game

I didn't actually see the bottom of the image before, but the difference is pretty big. Part of making a game is spreading the word, and its something people often pay for (as advertising). They don't want you using the sub that way, whether you are making money with the game right now or not, even if you don't ever think you will. /r/RedditCensors is more about mod's abusing their power to protect themselves or push their political beliefs.

You could say the same thing about any art form though -- Van Gogh's works would never be known had his brother's wife not championed his name and art for the rest of her life. This was certainly not that and was more akin to making a simple drawing -- It's just that the pen strokes here is code and logic. Disappointing that engineering plus art is not protected or valued the same way a drawing or painting is. I hope that changes. People sell and promote all kinds of art and also make and share all kinds for no gain and personal pleasure. I thought this sub used to be about more than that but I have noticed it's solely about politics now... guess i'm in the wrong place AGAIN! will have to post to /r/nonpoliticalredditcensors

I mean if that's what they want their community to be ok, but is there really that much "Dwarf fortress only" content?
