My honest opinion is that ReactOS has about zero chance of keeping up with the changes it would have to keep up with in order to be actually useful for gaming.
It's just not going to happen as far as gaming goes.

Exactly this. The fact is almost nobody cares, and this applies to privacy and security across the board in my experience.
Until it smacks them in their nose, and makes them bleed, then they care... but then it's too late to be caring, the damage is done.
