You can use I2P with a compatible torrent client (like qbittorrent).. Although there won't be as many seeds.. But at least you won't be directly connecting to IPs directly that are sharing the content..
But yeah I agree that it would be nice to see a new system created that is specifically made to share stuff anonymously.. Torrents are kind of old technology and need some updating..
