The UCLA was literally started by a group of Jewish lawyers, whose first case was to defend the free speech of Nazis. Actual Nazis.

Comment on: Article about huge rise in young men's suicide in eastern Canada. Almost every comment deleted and thread locked. See highlighted comments which have been force deleted by mods in comments.
>All across the world, in every society ever, men do the heaviest work, perform the most dangerous jobs, provide most of the financial responsibilities for their families, defend against danger, are expected to be leaders, and are the most expendable when it comes to surviving tragedies and wars. >When a man loses all purpose in life, it has serious consequences. There's a lot of pressure put on boys that our society tends actively to downplay, and I think it's a tragedy that even acknowledging these facts will get you attacked, instead of listened to. Deleted for being hate speech, apparently. >Add to that much higher unemployment rates ,not doing as well in school and IMHO we are doing a great disservice to young men/boys right now that I am afraid are going to have bad outcomes in the long run Deleted as hate speech >Men are also never expected to look vulnerable since it looks weak. We as a society need to accept that men can be vulnerable, and can cry and be sad. Deleted by mods >Men have always had higher suicide rates, as well as workplace deaths, homicides. >We just have it too easy in life. Deleted as hate speech by mods

Comment on: This thread on r/china_flu about chinese McDonalds refusing to serve black customers
So you would prefer an article that shows many examples of this instead of just one anecdote?

How is a Chinese response to the flu not related to the flu in China? It is not off topic. If you are going to bullshit at least put in a little effort.

Do you think that post should have been removed?

Comment on: A sub documenting "Racism Against White People" just got banned because... well, it's not ok to notice racism I guess.
It is personal for most of them actually.

This is a propaganda site now. It has been for a while. No reason to even get upset anymore.

Comment on: I posted in r/the_Donald ONCE. The first time in my life. I posted a video about the US's military power (and how it's awesome.)
I've been called out for "being a regular poster" of r/Canada. Because apparently even the regular debates there are too much for people. Of all places.

I'm sure they will take heed of that.

Comment on: Why the fuck are /r/politics mods allowed to quietly delete anything they disagree with?
>How does reddit allow random 20-somethings to insert themselves into political conversations on one of today's most important platforms for speech? They don't "allow" it. They perpetrate it. They control who the mods are and hide behind them. That way reddit(tm) isn't doing it, it's "the mods".

Wow. This is like saying "r/Canada is now a site run by the radical left and no one else will be allowed to talk moving forward".

Comment on: I'm new to Reddit so I don't really know how it all works but this is pretty gay.
I was there since the beginning and still got banned for saying that capitalism started as a means of figuring how what price to put on things. That was considered propaganda or something. Your idea only works if people are rational.

It is a garbage sub. Used to be great but there is at least one mod who is an idiot, no idea who.

I'm not sure you can threaten someones family. Maybe that's totally legal and I'm wrong though.

Yeah that is worthy if contacting the police, and I'm generally the last person that would go there. The person that wrote that is a danger to themselves and others.

Comment on: They don't see the irony? Banned for talking about mods on a different subreddit.
I will admit you make some good points, however I do feel reddit was founded under ideals that run counter to the way it is currently being ran. It isn't about me not being able to find information. I will always be able to. It is about the masses of people that are missing out because reddit is a huge magnet and also acts as a filter. I guess at the end of the day I just really don't like it, and I feel like talking about it shouldn't necessarily be avoided because I bet there really are people that haven't considered how much manipulation goes on here. Although I'm sure they will come to realize eventually.

The cycle of history repeating itself seems to be going faster and faster and faster. >Think of subs as people's houses. You can't go complaining about being kicked out of someone's house because people are legitimately king of their own castles. I think of it more like a delivery system like a phone company. AT&T for example. But now imagine they have decided to start intercepting text messages and voice mails and all other traffic over their networks (The net neutrality fight is about this. I can only assume you are fervently anti net neutrality). And since it is a private company run by private individuals who have personal political goals they decide that they are going to try to covertly influence the opinions and thoughts large numbers of people by secretly changing what *it appears* that others say, or at the very least what it means by selective deletion. Say, by deleting all the arguments for something and leaving all the arguments against something. I choose that example simply to show one of it's simplest and most easily understood methods. And if anyone notices, they will delete that too. You know, just like the methods reddit uses. Don't like it? Just use another carrier. And also don't speak to anyone who use that carrier any more of course. And also be prepared to lose votes for your party or lose support for cause because of the covert manipulation of such a large number of people who are deliberately misled. But yeah, your right. Their massive manipulation of public discourse is none of my business. They *privately own* the mechanisms of that manipulation so I, morally, have nothing to complain about. It would be no different if I started a newspaper that made up fake news. You have *no right to complain* about it because I *own* the newspaper. Don't like it? Don't buy it and otherwise never speak a single word against the practice. Anything else is immoral. Right? My complaint isn't about individuals losing the right to speak. My complaint is about the public at large being deliberately misled about what others are saying.

That would be a reasonable point if default subs were not hand picked and were, as was in the past, voted by the userbase into the top spots. Reminds of GWB's free speech zones. Regardless, free speech in an idea. It isn't a rule or a law. Certain types of people are against it. Certain types of people are for it.

That's been tried and those ventures were sabotaged by reddit users that would say the same thing you're saying right now.

I have every right to complain. Of course the real problem has been the privatization of all public spaces where discussion can take place, in the real world, or online.

Comment on: Reddit is testing a new sign up experience that will replace automatic subscription to default subreddits with an invitation to 'explore' /r/popular (reddit's new censored frontpage) and subscribe to subreddits found there
If you think that is all they remove I have had news for you.

Comment on: /r/LateStageCapitalisms bans its own users for pointing out that a story everyone's taking seriously is a comedian's joke, and the 'vile' mechanism they're criticizing doesn't actually work like they think
Which is sad because that sub used to be a very take-no-prisoners-esque place where criticism of anything and everything was okay. Then again so was the whole site. I was one of their oldest subscribers and got banned for a single post.
