Depends: How much? What guarantees of privacy do I have and how will it be transparent about that? Will I just end up using Google anyway when I can't find what I'm looking for?

These platforms (partly) rely on their monolithic nature to protect them. "YouTube is too big to be taken down, so why bother?". Etc. How quickly we forget about MySpace. YouTube is just one killer feature away from obsolescence, and the person who figures out what that feature is is going to be a billionaire.
