I understand your frustration, but not all change is good. A politician is much more likely to take advantage of something like January 6th to establish a more "permanent" system than it is to actually "shake things up," *especially* since January 6th was protesting the popular outcome of an election and not dirty politics.

I think increasing the number of events like that would just increase the chance that one of them will, in fact, succeed in overturning an election and retaining power for an incumbent who wasn't reelected.
