Comment on: Where should I migrate my projects to (from Github)?

Create a piece of software that YOU want to use, not some one else but you. That way its solving for something you want solved in the way you wanted it to be done. Don't start something that you don't really want otherwise you will never finish it.
Comment on: Your developers aren't slow
Yah if I understand why you want me to make this thing it makes it much easier to make said thing. It also helps alleviate the generally poor acceptance criteria because if you told me your intention I can fill in the grey area with my best guess on how that feature should work.
Comment on: Hey /v/programming - What's your favorite language to program in and why?
My first programming language was BASIC.
I am all about what ever language is going to solve the problem the best, and its a plus if I don't need a windows server to run it. I generally go for using Java/C#/C++ but if there is something simple that does the job I will use that too.
Comment on: Fast as C: How to write really terrible Java
Because if it was a silky smooth program that used java, you wouldn't know java is running the back end.
Comment on: Code Review Subverse
Thanks, Will do but I also assumed that the vast majority if not 100% of the audience would have overlap here.
Comment on: Code Review Subverse
I created a subverse for code review something I realized was missing here and it is a part of the development cycle I enjoy. I figured people here would get the most value out of it.
If you are willing to pay for about $4 a month you can rent a decent VPS and install the software on there, check out vps cheap, I used to use them until I moved to a dedicated server being colo'd.
There are plenty of FOSS projects that will let you roll your own tooling for ALM/SCM.
