And in my opinion, that is one of the biggest problems with reddit, and one of the biggest contributors to this website no longer being a valid source of information. These types of issues have degraded Reddit to the point where there is little to no value to be found here. Reddit is now largely a cesspool of misinformation, idiocy, and heavily manipulated & biased content. At its core, Reddit is flawed because individuals are flawed. I started following the New York Times in the past year. They publish both hysteria and criticism of the hysteria. Yet only the NYT articles promoting hysteria get upvoted on Reddit. I'm not hiding anything. I showed all the censored comments and the modmail. People like you project your own emotions, weaknesses, fears, and biases on other things/people, thus distorting everything into your narrow preconceptions.

I don't see any problem with /r/childfree. It's great that people who don't want children are choosing not to create them. What's problematic is people irresponsibly creating children when they lack the ability/desire to care for them properly and ensure they're healthy and well developed.

Each time I've done that I've got an automated response that reddit does nothing about abusive, corrupt mods. I've reported some extremely abusive mods and reddit doesn't bat an eye. Most people have no clue what mods are doing since mods can, and typically do, act in total secrecy.

Unfortunately the admins pretty much completely ignore those, as they have been ignoring mod abuse for the full history of reddit. After using that mod report form you get an automated email saying they don't do anything.

Indeed. In my opinion it's due to two reasons: 1. The narrative is being manipulated. 2. The average person does not have the cognitive capacity to weigh all the various factors, outcomes, etc., and instead just have an emotional reaction of "oh my god people are dying" triggered in their brain that overrides all critical thinking.
